Don’t put too many irons in the fire
English Proverb
The meaning of this English proverb is very powerful. It means that you shouldn’t attempt to do too many things at once. That it is better to focus on a smaller amount of things, ideally one thing, at a particular time.
Desire For All
It’s fine to desire more from your life, a lot more. If you want to everything you ever desired, you can have it. That’s what I believe, but if you try and get everything all at once, you’ll likely end up having none of it.
Taking things step by step, focusing on a few things at once will enable you to reach your goals. Try to juggle, read a book, watch a video and spin in a circle all at the same time. If you manage to do this, it’s impressive, you should also film it! But for the majority of us, it’s not possible. However, if you tried to do them all in succession, one at a time, it’s much more manageable and much more likely that you’ll be able to do them. Over time as you get better at juggling, able to read quicker, and don’t get dizzy spinning, you’ll be able to do them collectively.
It’s not that it’s impossible, it’s just a lot easier to tackle tasks one at a time. It’s a lot more effective to focus on one thing, complete it, then move onto the next.
